Amore e Amore
This ever-changing themed restaurant is sure to surprise mom. The Italian restaurant changes its theme every couple months with over-the-top decor from floor to ceiling. Previous themes have included a Cupid theme in February, to the Wizard of Oz. The price fixe menu changes too but is always impressive. Spring flowers are sure to put a smile on mom’s face along with the tasty Italian fare.
The Betty
This swanky restaurant which is located inside Buckhead’ Sylvan hotel, has a supper club vibe with throwback music most nights. Oysters and Rockefeller and prawns are a must for seafood lovers. Steak frites are also a terrific entree. Tip: Be sure to reserve one of the velvet booths for the best view of the restaurant and music performers.
Divan
If your mom wants to feel like a Queen, take her to a castle. Divan, a Middle Eastern themed restaurant is often referred to as “The Castle” of Atlanta. Consistently one of the top restaurants in Atlanta, the building was built in 1910 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Start with the Smoked Eggplant (Kashke Bademjaan). Get the Basil Scallops or Verlasso Salmon for a main entree.
Kyma
Who says you can’t have a night out on the town without breaking the bank? The Girls Night Out (perfect for mothers and daughters) is a great Mother’s Day option. Start with a glass of bubbly and choose 3 small plates to share (get the Lamb pie!!) entree and a tasting of desserts for just $49 /person.
Nobu
If mom loves sushi, and enjoys watching all the action, take her to Nobu in Buckhead. The menu is huge with hot dishes, cold dishes and of course, sushi. If she doesn't want to make too many choices, there is a 3-course brunch which offers a bevy of the best the restaurant has to offer.
North Italia
If your mom enjoys quality Italian food that is approachable like short rib pasta, difference varieties of pizzas and wants to sit on a patio this Mother’s Day, make sure to bring her to North Italia. Servers here are thoughtful and will ensure mom enjoys her special day.
Petite Violette
One of the longest standing restaurants in Atlanta, Petite Violette, has done a splendid job of serving some of the best French food in Atlanta. A menu staple and customer favorite the Beef Wellington, is the best to be had in Atlanta. Plus, the restaurant also has a comedy dinner theatre in which guests play small parts in, which may appeal to many moms.
Planta
If mom is Vegan, this restaurant is sure to impress and show how thoughtful you are. The food is impressive whether you are a meat eater or not. Chefs get creative with “sushi” and other meat substitutes. There are also non-alcoholic wines and mocktails.
Serena Pastificio
Located in Midtown’s Colony square, this is an upscale Italian spot mom is sure to love. An Octopus starter is done just right and perfect for sharing. House made pastas are a must when you visit, specifically the Linguine with Clams. Tiramisu for dessert is the perfect ending.
St. Cecilia
A mediterranean inspired restaurant, this is where to take mom for a showstopping restaurant. As you descend the stairs from the top entrance which overlook the brightly lit bar, you know you are in for a treat! Tip: Pastas are available in half portions so you can try a variety like the beef cheek Agnolotti or shrimp Lumache. But the fresh fish flown in daily is a highlight too.
White Oak Kitchen
If your mom loves elevated southern cuisine, then bring her to this downtown restaurant. The Georgia Shrimp or Bison Short Rib are sure to impress. There is also a terrific wine list.
